Plus a clean car inside and out!

I finally heard from the Mercedes guy and he said to call the mobile service so I did. Within an hour, they had a guy here with a briefcase sized battery charger. It took him longer to get to the battery than to charge it. He was a really nice guy to boot. He said batteries last about 5 years and mine was born in 2010. He said to let it run for 15 mins. I asked wouldn't it be better to drive it? Oh sure. Ok, then, I'm driving to the dealership to buy a new battery.

OH and Mercedes roadside service is complementary! who knew?!

And I did. The dealership, which usually annoys the crap out of me, could not have been better today. They said it would take an hour and in an hour, I had a new battery installed and a car that had been thoroughly cleaned inside and out.

And christonacracker, I should have as much pep as that car has when I turn the key! So, all's well that ends well.

I stopped at the bagel place on the way home and got a celebratory sandwich. Probably not the smartest idea but damn that was a good sandwich.

When I got home and opened the front door, Biggie was sitting on the credenza waiting. And he's been all over me since. We've had seveal Stickie sessions and now he's on my lap. I think I've pretty much ruined him as a cat that can deal with being by himself.

I cleaned out a huge drawer today. It had crap in it from when jesus was a baby. A giant deep drawer of crap now empty. So nice.

I think I'm going to need to toss out some of what was going to go to Goodwill. I just don't have the room - especially with no idea when they will ever be taking stuff again. It's ok. No one really needs a DVD player from the 80's.

It was interesting to be out in the car. There was a lot more gathering of people than I realized. Clusters of people on street corners. Clearly social distancing is distant still from many social gatherings. I'm staying here. With Biggie. He needs me. Until I run out of Pop Tarts then we will revisit.
