Night riders

Between 3 and 4 this morning we held the Citty Cat Circus here mostly on my bed and mostly on my body. They ran and they jumped and they landed and they did it all over again. And again. And again. Even Stickie got into the act. They brought him up to the bed and then took him back down and repeated...

I was really sleepy so I just slept-ish. About 6:15, I turned on the light and they replayed the whole scene. Did they think I'd missed it?

When I left for the pool, Stickie was on the floor in the hallway. When I got home, he was on my bed. Maybe I should review the footage on the webcam. Maybe not.

And, not surprising, they are eating a bunch. Maybe that cat carrier isn't going to be big enough!

There was a big crowd waiting to get in when the gym opened this morning. The Last Saturday. I pretty much had the pool, however, to myself. My actual swim was kind of a slog. I might skip tomorrow but, it will be The Last Sunday so maybe not.

Now they are at it again. I got two kittens instead of one because I wanted a built in playmate. Man, did I ever get that in spades!

It's hot hot hot out. I'd like to go to QFC for some hot weather food but I'm not bad enough to go out in this sun/heat.

My new library Kindle book is, so far, delightful - When you Read This by Mary Adkins.

When I was in college, I took a course in contemporary American literature. One of the few of all my courses in all my schooling that I even remember. (I was a horrible student for all 16 years and hated school with a passion.) In this course, we read a lot. A whole lot. Of really good stuff and some not so good. I did discover (Thank you, John Updike) that blow jobs were a thing in Rabbit Run. (I was a bit of a late bloomer.) I also discovered what an epistolary novel was and fell in love with the genre when I read 84 Charing Cross Road. I got to the end and immediately read the whole thing over again. I think I just like reading other people's mail.

The very first Google alert I set up - even before "susan dennis" was one for "epistolary novel". That's how I found When You Read This. Score.
