A few weeks ago, a woman I'd not seen before came into the pool area while I was swimming. She sat on the edge of the pool for a while. When I got there and as I turned to looked at her and said very cheerily "Good Morning!" and gave her a smile. I do this with everyone who comes into the pool when I'm swimming. I like them to know they are swimming with a nice person and not some mean swimming snob. (And there are plenty of those.)

Later when I was getting dressed after my shower, she popped up next to me and said "Thank you so much for that Good Morning. I was just not feeling it and almost deciding to abandon the whole swim idea. But you made me feel so welcome I swam instead and I am so glad I did so THANK YOU!" It was cute and sweet.

This morning I had the pool to myself until the end of my swim. My swim was kind of a slog. I had to wear the polaroid goggles because the sun was blasting in and killing my eyes. The polaroid goggles help tremendously with the sun glare but are, otherwise, horrible to swim with. I can't see much of anything with them. But, I got to my mile and it was ok. As I was taking off my goggles and earbuds the other swimmer stopped and said "You are such a strong swimmer!!"

That just instantly turned my slog swim into a Victory For The Day. At least at the pool anyway, compliments are never wasted!

I stopped at the grocery on the way home. Again, I remembered to look at my list. I am getting to be a list ninja! I have moved back from Google Keep to Google Shopping list because of the 'hey, google, add xxx to my shopping list' feature. It's pretty solid in terms of always working plus I like the little food pictures.

I have, here in the living room, a magazine and two actual books with pages (as opposed to ebooks I always have with me and so are always available). They sit here unread and are driving me crazy. I never seem to have the time to read them. Which in my case, since I have all the time in the world, means I never make time to read. I listen to an audio book every night for an hour but I can play video games while I do that. I can't do much of anything while I'm holding a pages book except read.

So, starting today, with my second cup of coffee, I will be reading one of the things with pages here in the living room. If it's only for 10 minutes, that's fine. I just need to make it a habit. Every. Day.

It's now Second Cup Of Coffee time. So, scuse me while I grab some pages to read.
