So the long trip up there was a 100% success. Nothing I ever need to go back for.
I also tried out the new tunnel running under downtown Seattle. It is a long ass tunnel. It's two miles and feels, while you are driving it, that it's about 4 times longer than that. It's a weird experience to get to the edge of downtown, then the next daylight is the other side of downtown. I'm not sure, however, I'll use it often once they start charging tolls.
The chicken salad I made yesterday may well be the very best chicken salad I have ever had in my entire life. I have enough of everything to make more except for grapes. And the grapes are critical. Also at Safeway on Saturday, I grabbed a package of Safeway bakery cookies labeled 'almond crisp'. They are heaven!! I think, tomorrow I'm going to dip into that Safeway after my swim and get grapes and more cookies.
The Mariners are having a lovely game. I killed a solid hour sorting out my Mariner ticket situation on my Google Calendar ... I ⚾💎 for Diamond Club to each entry. Because it makes me smile.
Oh and I bought a ticket to a Seattle Men's Chorus concert in June. They are doing the 1960's. Most of their concerts are over at the University and a bitch for me to get to. This one is an afternoon concert at the symphony hall. Much better.
I got a note today, in the snail mail, from a bff from long ago. She writes that she was cleaning out a closet and found the copy of the newspaper when I was on the front page of the business section - the internet was new and I built websites. The story ran with this photo which never fails to amuse me.
Anyway, probably the last time I saw or talked to my friend was about when this picture was taken - the mid 90's. We met in college and bonded strongly for years and years and then went our separate ways. Her toddler is now grown, a nurse and has a 19th month old. And, yep, we will both be 70 years old by May. It's kind of strange to hear from her. Especially in snail mail. I guess I'll dig out a card and return the favor.
I am mot a good friend. Oh well.
I really hate that Google has map places with no street view. That's mean and wrong.
