The value of a day off

I enjoyed my day off from the traffic nightmare yesterday but it was heaven to get back into that pool today. Twice as good as usual. Maybe I should consider taking days off more often. I swam and swam and swam. no traffic to worry about. no reason to even hurry.

I did 2,000 yards and a victory lap. So good.

Then it was on to Safeway where, miracle of miracles, I had a list and remembered to check it and forgot nothing! Seriously. they should play triumphant trumpets or something as you leave the store for and achievement like that.

Then home where I fried two eggs and put them on top of toasted corn bread. Delicious. Now I'm having my second cup of coffee while I plan my day. Or, actually, what's left of it.

I'm coming down the home stretch of the miniature house. I have tables and chairs yet to build and some other little stuff. The wiring is all in place. I need to pull all the wires into bundles and then hook them to the batteries. I'm putting it off because I'm afraid it won't work and I won't be able to fix it. Maybe I'll do that today. Might as well find out.

I'm thinking now I might actually finish it before the housecleaner comes on Wednesday.
