And that 2018 kitchen water tragedy is over...

The plumber lady said on Wednesday after I explained that I'd been sandbagged more than once with promises and backing out, that the earliest she could have someone her was Friday. "But I can guarantee you that I will have someone there on Friday between 12 and noon."

11:50 the phone rings. "We're going to have to move that appointment. We could do it Saturday but we'd have to charge for weekend work. I do have an opening on Monday. He'll try to get there today but he might not be able to."

I honestly was not all that pleasant to her.

The regular building manager is out and the substitute seemed like a nice guy when I was down there to pick up a package so I went down to see him. On the way, in the elevator, I ran into the guys working on the unit that had the fire. I tried to hire them. They declined - legal reasons.

Saleem was in the office and I explained my sad sad story. He offered to come look at it. He found the lose bolt and tightened it and all was fixed. Seriously. He spent 5 minutes here but most of that was showing me which bolt it was and testing one more time to make sure.

Water in the kitchen. No leaks.

So here's what happened next.

1. I wrote an effusive email to his boss.
2. I forwarded a copy to Saleem with a thank you note on top.
3. I called the other plumber and said "This is Susan Dennis. Please cancel my appointment." I hung up so fast, she called me back "We got cut off". No, we did not.

My kitchen is all put back together now. Hallefuckinloooyah.

Oh I just got the nicest note back from Saleem's boss. She allowed as how he was new and they were thrilled to hear such a lovey report. So YEAH!

And now, I can move on with my life.

I did go to Costco and secured more of those great potatoes. And got capers. And two other things. And a nice, long, walk. And I got the car washed.

And I did all the laundry and put it all away.

I'm taking the rest of the day off.
