Today, I stopped by. A young man eating a sandwich was in such a hurry to answer my question that he didn't even take time to swallow before he opened his mouth (tuna fish, btw) to say "you can't get your card today, there's no manager." Those were the only words he uttered. The "I'm sorry" probably got lost in the tuna fish.
I replied to the email and told her to mail it to me. Which, by the way, she should have done to start with.
But, before that, I did have a really nice swim. Weirdly, none of the Saturday regulars showed up. I had the pool to myself for most all of my hour. Probably means tomorrow will be packed.
I'm reading two good-ish books right now. I'm listening to The Sinner by Petra Hammesfahr. I've got an hour and a half left and I'm kind of over it but I still want to find out what happens and how it happens so I'll listen on. It was one of those that grabbed me in the first 5 minutes and held on most of the way through.
On my Kindle, I'm reading The Long Haul: A trucker's Tales of Life on the Road by Finn Murphy. I'm not terribly far into it but it is fascinating. I used to move every 18 months - professional packers/movers and unpackers (paid for by IBM). Fun to read about the other side of it.
The Mariners games - today and tomorrow - are on TV in the afternoon. This is also known as My Perfect Baseball scenario.
I need to cut out some pants to take back to the sewing room and sew up. So... sew?... that's up next.
