Well, now... this is interesting...

There is a gynormous building - hotel, office tower - going up a block from here - right in front of the Amtrak station. A company has now rented out the top six floors and I was reading about that and following links and found this one that includes, in the building's ammenties:

"• Seventh floor: 13,000 SF fitness center with full size lap pool and men’s and women’s locker rooms. Outdoor deck with views of downtown"

A lap pool a block away? Now that would be nice little neighborhood bonus.

Also, that link is to a site - Officespace.Com that I help build out as my very first web job in 1994. The two guys who started it wanted to put commercial listings on DVD's but then heard about this web thing. They worked in the office next to the PR firm that hired me after IBM. It was a trial hire for 3 months. It totally did not work. At 2.5 months, the owner suggested that I help out the two realtors who wanted a website - whatever that was.

So I did. None of us knew what we were doing. But we muddled through. At one point, when they hit a cash problem, they couldn't pay me for a month so they gave me part of the company. Finally, after a couple of years, we were on a roll and I was ready for something new. I left them to it and moved on. About 10 years later, they sold the company and sent me a check for $14,000 - my ownership percentage!

I only got one doll done today. But I like her. I got some others cut out and ready. Tomorrow I need to make more faces.
