My iPod shuffle is a dead duck. So I swam in my head this morning which was fine. Not something I want to do every day - I like the tunes - but fine for today. I need to figure out options.
Yesterday was the first day of non-winter around here. About mid day, I noticed that I had been comfortably barefoot all day - no slippers needed and in a light weight shirt instead of my usual fleece. And today, after my swim, I put my hoodie back on outside and realized quickly that I didn't need it. Bye winter. You weren't nearly as fierce as I would have liked but you were pretty good. See you after baseball.
Single tickets went on sale today for the Mariners and people were camped out when I passed by on the way to the pool. Not hoards of people but more than I would have guessed. Today's game is on MLB TV - finally I get to see all these new players in action.
My TiVo got a new feature yesterday. It now skips all commercials with the press of a button. Way back when I got my first TiVo in 2000, there was a competitor that had this feature and TiVo, long ago, got a 30 second skip maybe about 8 or 9 years ago. you quickly learn how many times you need to hit that button to get back to the program and sometimes miss but it was better than nothing. But, now, when watching a recorded show, as soon as the first commercial starts, you get a beep to remind you to hit the skip button. One punch and your show is back where it left off. It's a freakin' miracle.
It's not perfect. I can't use it, for instance, when I record a baseball game and start watching the recording after the game has started but before it's done. But, small beans in my book. I love skip. A lot.
I've been getting a lot of unwanted calls and texts lately. Political candidates, charities, frauds, etc. I'm thinking of replacing my ringtone for phone calls with a moment of silence. I actually do, however, get a measure of satisfaction from hanging up and/or not answering But I'm a little curious why all the new traffic. I'm thinking like Sally Field... they like me!
I think I'll go sew.
