MLK day hangover?

I left the gym at 8:31 which, by all rights, should have been at the height of rush hour and the bridge should have been backed up to stop. I would have expected it to take me 20-25 minutes to get home. It took 11. WTF?

I have a doctor's appointment - Dr. Lung, just a checkup - at 10. It makes no sense to leave here much before 9:30. It's 9:20.

On the top of the doll pieces cut out and ready for assembly was a fat, orange pipe cleaner. The pile is in the sewing room. And, yet, Zoey just appeared in the living room with a fat, orange pipe cleaner. hmmmmm At least it will be easy to find when she's done with it.

I'm trying something new. For all of my life, I've set the alarm before I went to bed. In the past few decades, it's been set for 5:30 or 6 on weekdays and 6 on weekends. I might not get up, but the radio (NPR news) goes off at that time.

Last week, when my brother was here, I turned off the alarm. This week, I did not turn it back on. I'm going to wake up when I wake up and leave the radio off. At least for a while and see what happens. When I wake up, I'll do a little interneting and then go to the pool. At whatever time it is. The only caveat is Tuesdays and Thursdays. I have to be out of the house, on the way to the pool no later than 7:15 in order to get my swim in before the aqua exercise class at 9.

This morning, I left for the pool at 7:55.

It's not as easy as one might think, arranging one's life with no boundaries.

I think I'll stop at Uwajimaya after the doctor's and try to hunt down that elusive mustard green.

And then there will be sewing. Thas may or may not involve a fat, orange pipe cleaner.
