And the glory days come to an end...

On Christmas Eve, the pool was packed. Every day since then it's pretty much just been me and my swim buddy Brodie. We joked yesterday about our private pool. And yesterday was the last day. Today, yikes! The pool was packed and there were people waiting to get in. After my swim, as I went back to the locker room, there was a woman in a swim suit and goggles downing the last of her coffee leisurely before her swim... Good luck. That coffee just cost you a lane!

And, I suspect, that the crowds will be there until all of the New Years resolutions get forgotten... Feb? March?

But, that wasn't the main gym issue. I swear I thought I checked last night but I guess not close enough. I got to the gym at 7:10 only to learn they had special New Year's Eve hours... opening at 8. Doh. But, the garage was well lit and warm so I just sat in my car and listened to my audio book while I worked Sudoku puzzles. No biggie, really.

My Misfit Shine, however, refuses to acknowledge my swim! I've had it not sync before but, eventually, it would. This time, it's syncing just fine. It just doesn't believe I swam at all much less a mile. Insulting but not catastrophic. I was thinking about using my $20 Best Buy card to buy (or go towards buying) a Moov fitness band. The Misfit pisses me off routinely. But, I suspect, the Moov isn't any better. Some day fitness peops will get on the swim bandwagon but so far... no.

My brother's tech guy is going to CES next week and I asked him to keep an eye out for any swim tech. Here's hoping.

I have zero else on the schedule today. Maybe some laundry. Probably some doll making. Definitely some bear knitting.

I have one episode left of Scott & Bailey. That will take me to the middle of their last season. Our PBS station will air the rest in the coming weeks. Wikipedia says they planned to film a 3 episode series in September of last year. Don't know if they did. I've really enjoyed it.

I need to find a new audio book as this one will end today. It's Headhunters by Jo Nesbo. My brother found it. It's the strangest story ever. The reader is kind of boring and the story is kind of weird but there are a couple of scenes in the book that are now just etched into my brain forever. It's going to be hard to find a next good one.
