I never did get to sewing yesterday and might not today. Today is Windows 10 day. 20 years ago, I stayed up until midnight with a group of nerd guys (yep, all guys) in line at Office Depot to get my hands on one of the first copies of Windows 95. I told myself, I'd just buy it and come home and go to bed and install it the next day. But, of course, I did not. I stayed up all night playing with it and getting online and swapping geek spit with my online buddies about all the fun new tricks. At age 46.
But now I use Chromebooks 95% of the time. There are only a few things that I need more for. So I have one Windows machine left in the house. It currently runs Windows 7. I have a love/hate relationship with it. I spend no quality time with it. I'm either doing one of the few tasks that require it to do or updating and hoping it doesn't throw me any errors.
I kind of, in the back of my mind, thought maybe I'd leave the Windows 10 update until my brother comes in January and con him into doing it. But, that is so freaking lame. Really, I can't can't stand the self that would do that. BUT, it's been a few years since I've really done any systemic windows work, so I want an expert at hand. Which is why I'm doing it today and not this weekend. My brother's tech, Jake, will be on duty today and tomorrow if I need help.
So, when I get home from the pool, that's the plan.
And I need to line the bears up, snap their photo and then pack them up for transit tommorrow right after swim.
Tonight is a Seahawks game. This means no going out in the car after about 1 p.m. I try to be not annoyed by Seahawkians but they are such a loud, drunk bunch that it's hard to be tolerant. But they really don't play that many home games. And after tonight there will be one less. There are so many great things about living here, that I can surely deal with 10 or so days a year when we're invaded by the reckless and rude.
