The Great Seattle Sewing Bee

We cannot get the British Sewing Bee here and I hate that. I have seen parts of one of the three seasons by catching You Tube before they kill the video. So I'm having my own.

Today's challenge was to make a little bag for all the little stuff in my bag. Ha!

So I did. Now, I totally get that I could buy very nearly exactly this at the dollar store but... I wanted to make my own!

I try to keep my every day carry bag pared down to the minimum. So now, there's this bag, my inhaler, a packet of tissues and a folded up shopping bag. Phone and keys are in my pocket. Cash is in one side zipper pouch and cards (credit and other) in the other side zipper bag. Lean and mean.

The blue is a spare battery for my phone and the coiled cable attaches it. The white square are breath mints. The contact case has my cough pills. A pen, chapstick, hand lotion and earbuds. Oh and a little pouch for my toothpick.  The little bag is made of oil cloth so it's not stiff and kind of molds to its contents which is exactly what I wanted.

After I got the sewing area all back to neat and tidy, I took a walk to the post office to mail a package. It is not hot out but it is muggy and sticky. We're going in the right direction but we're not there yet!
