Real or Memorex?

My COPD isn't flemmy. When I cough, it's a dry irritant cough.  But often, when I start coughing I can't quit. I breathe, I cough. Drinking something (water) helps but not always. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night coughing and sometimes it just randomly starts during the day. And it sucks. In lots of ways. Not the least of which is that coughing irritates my coughing mechanisms and causes more coughing.

My rescue inhaler isn't so good against the coughing but... Benzonatate - a little yellow gelcap - really is. I can take one of those little jewels and my coughing stops in minutes. Seriously. I've always wonder if it's a psychosomatic response or if they really do do something that shuts down the coughing that quickly.

Honestly, I don't give a shit. They work. Perfectly every time. Whether they work by tweaking something physical that stops the coughing or by by tweaking something mental, I really don't care.

I end up taking about 2 a week maybe. They cost about $1.50 each even with Medicare but I don't care. I'd pay it if they were $5 each. They are that good. And I am that grateful to have something to fix it when my breathing gets broken.
