Haircut Monday

This morning's swim was excellent. There were not a lot of people in the pool and by the time I got to the end of my mile, there were only 2 of us left in the pool. This is the last week of that. Next week, the girls swim team starts. They come in about 4 am and finish up just at 6:30 when I start.  The girls are from now until November and then the guys take the early morning slot. These are kids from the local Catholic high schools which, apparently, start school next week as well.

It's always so weird to get to the pool at 6:30am in the morning and find the pool full to the brim with teenagers who are not the least bit sleepy. On girl days, my swim is through a maze of various flowery smells. On boy days, over the pool floats a dense cloud of Axe Body Spray.

Mainly it makes me soooo glad I'm not a teenager.

I think the big doin's today will be a haircut. It's kind of at that place where a haircut is not mandatory but will be sometime this week so why not go ahead and get it done.

The mattress for the little day bed is on the truck for delivery today. It was scheduled for Tuesday. Kind of a treat to get it today.

On Saturday, I spent way too much time trying to get an audio book from the library onto my iPod Shuffle. Once I finally got it done, I posted a little bitch about it on Google+ - I was annoyed at the Shuffle, iTunes and Overdrive.  But, I did mention that I had been able to get it done.

Just now I got an email notice from Overdrive of a support ticket created for my issue - and it copied my little rant in total.  Freaky and wild.

Last week, I made a batch of my breakfast quiche muffins only this time I made big changes. And the result is wonderful! I love it.

12 muffins

12 eggs
1/2 cup half and half
1/2 cup bisquicks
3 cups grated cheese

Mix it all together and fill up each cup of a muffin tin. Cook 35 minutes at 350 degrees. They will poof all up and then deflate to a good size when they cool down a bit. Fridge to hot = 1 min in microwave.

These are deliciously eggy and cheesy. My breakfast of choice. Easy peasy.
