Fortunately, I came to my senses. We do NOT need another cat. We are fine. Zoey is very sweet and very low maintenance and we like that. Why upset the apple cart?! This apple cart is fine, thankyouverymuch.
Zoey is always waiting for me on the hutch by the door when I come home. But today, when I got home from swimming, she wasn't there. Or in any of her usual places. One of the coolest things about Zoey is that, unlike any other cat I have ever had, she comes when you call her! It's weird but handy. So I called her and she came out from under the hutch by the door!
I went into the kitchen to fix a sandwich and she hopped up on the counter where she stared at me with the 'soooo why the hell did you have to wake me up to watch you fix a sandwich????' Nope, we do not need another cat.
When I got out of the pool today, a friend from aqua exercise class was walking in 'I was hoping I'd see you here today'... Another friend, Judith, got married last Fall and moved to Jamaica. Apparently she's back in town and Kathy was wrangling up a reunion lunch. I so appreciate people who go to the trouble to do stuff like that. And while I've seen some of the people who still take the class - they are usually getting started across the pool as I'm finishing up - we wave. It will be good to chow and chat with them.
I got an email asking me to volunteer at a tech event next Friday evening which is exactly when the swim meet that I already volunteered to help with is scheduled. I wouldn't mind doing the tech deal but the pool asked first. Being so popular is a bitch.
