Today is Chef Anita day. She'll be here in about 30 minutes and my kitchen will be very busy.  I need to empty the dishwasher before she gets here.

I finally broke down and ordered a new router yesterday. And so this morning was the first morning that I woke up to a working internet connection in days and days. Go figure.  I may just hold on to the new router and not install it if the old one (which is not at all old) continues to work.  I'm still not entirely convinced Comcast isn't the issue.

And, it also appears as if for the second time in recent memory OnTrac - the delivery service that drove me crazy with their problem riddled service - has delivered a package to me a day early. Freaky.

I am done with trying to fix Washington State health insurance. My account online shows that I have been de-enrolled. On the next line, it says that my insurance is valid until 5/31. I have emails and snail mail saying that Medicare will now provide my coverage and Medicaid will now provide my coverage and that my account is cancelled and that I am eligible and have been accepted and that Washington State will pay my Medicare bill. Clearly, I have hit the sweet spot of WTF.

My new plan is, if I do not get a Medicare bill, to set aside the money and have it ready if/when they come asking for it.

About 10 years ago, a giant mortgage company (I don't remember which one) hijacked and paid my real estate taxes for 1.5 years - about $5,000. I tried hard to pay it back.  The phone calls were hilarious.  In order to get customer service help for their mortgage department, I had to have an account number. Since I didn't have a mortgage, I couldn't talk to anyone.  I tried for a freakin' year.  I kept the $5,000 in a separate account waiting for them to ask for it for about 4 years. They never did.

It was a little easier, but not much, to convince the country to stop sending my
