I was fine as a fiddle at swimming. I wasn't chatty but I did manage greetings and half sentence exchanges with zero problems.
I noticed this morning that my heel had managed to work right through my slippers to the floor. I have this poor, sad Sears store down the street. They don't have much in terms of inventory but they have always had a healthy slipper selection and I figured now might be a good time to get a good deal so off I went. I found a lovely pair for not quite cheap enough but then I found 3 pairs of loung-y pants in the mens section for a steal so that balanced everything out.
When I went up to pay, the nice checkout lady started asking me all kinds of questions - did I want to use my Sears card, did I have a points membership, did I have my own bag (here in Seattle, you carry your own bag or get charged for their paper one), and I opened my mouth to respond and got nothin'. We finished off the rest of the transaction with nods and pointing. Not really a problem.
But, then, without thinking, I got into the drive thru lane at McDonalds. Fail! I had to park and go in with pencil and paper... Really funny.
Happily, I probably won't have to talk to anyone else today. Oh, if those computer scam people call, I won't be able to jerk their chain... oh well.
My brother just sent me a note that he has stuck a deal with a really really good website guy. Whew. I feel badly that I'm not doing it for him but my skills are just not good enough. I will likely help/take over the content/maintenance bit which will be great. I'm just so glad he's put himself in the hands a classy outfit with a proven track record.
The laundry is done, folded and put away. I'm taking the rest of the day off.
