I have not  had a cigarette in probably 15 years and about the only time I think about it is when I see clearly not wealthy people smoking on the street and wonder how in the heck they can afford it.  (Cigarettes in Seattle are something like $9 a pack now.)  Seems like crack might be cheaper but whatever.

Anyway, after I ate my little breakfast this morning, suddenly I had a flash of how lovely it would be to enjoy a cigarette with the rest of my coffee.  Of course, since regular breathing is not that easy, smoking would be impossible and there's no way I'd pay that much and I really have lost my tolerance for the smell and mess.  But, just for a flash, I really did think, wouldn't it be nice.

I enjoy background music. I listen and sing along in stores (and, yesterday, I caught a guy in Grocery Outlet doing the same thing so it's not just me!)  Today I turned the bedroom radio to Pandora and now it's wafting lightly over the transom to here in the living room. I can control it via a web page (Squeezebox radio) so I don't even have to move to make it louder, vote for or against music or turn it down and it's not directly in my face or rather my ear.  I have no idea why I never thought of doing this before.  It's lovely!
