I finally did my storm clean up today - picked up a shit load of leaves off the terrace as well as the bits left of the two lanterns which were demolished in the windstorm. We're supposed to have another one soon - not nearly as bad but still I wanted to get ahead of the game.
Breathing, so far, has not been great today. Any exertion = panting. Now, I've been sitting and drinking water for 15 minutes and seem to be cured. Whew. Good thing I like sitting.
My waterproof ipod is scheduled to arrive today. From what I've been able to tell from my research, there's a chance I will be able to plug it in and have it available like an external harddrive right off which would be delightful. Worst case, apparently, I'll have to install a driver or two but there seems to be several ways around having to install iTunes. Actually worst case, is that there's not and I sent it back. I am not installing iTunes on anything anywhere anyhow no way.
My plans today are to be at the pool at 11 when it opens. Some days I am more ready for a swim than others - today is a more ready day. Plus, it's nicer to be out of the house some on cook day.
I ordered boots from Zappos. I'm pretty sure they will all go back but order them was easier than getting off my ass and to the shoe store. However, on Friday, I'm thinking about going downtown to a movie so I may well do some shopping then unless one of these pans out. I want fur lined boots that are comfortable to wear so I can just pull my feet out of my slippers and into the boots - especially on early morning swim days. BUT I am not so wedded to the idea that I will settle for less than the ideal boot. I've done that before and it's not worth the money because I end up not wearing them.
I'm interrupting bear production to make myself a hat. I just want a beanie kind of thing to both cover my hair up and warm up it a bit. I'm thinking about going to the hair place maybe tomorrow and getting them to trim it. Right now it just looks like the staff at the nursing home didn't take the time to even smooth it down and I've forgotten that it's up there.
To me, the significance of election day, especially this year, is that it means the end to the horrible election commercials on TV. Sometimes I cannot get to the FF button fast enough and have to hear some fool actor talk about how the end of the world will come if I don't vote for this guy or this initiative. Blech. At least tonight, hopefully, they will all be gone. Until next time.
