I got all the groceries needed for my chef's salad and got to the pool waaaaay too early.  Finally, the pool opened and it was heaven.  And not crowded.  The shallow end was packed to the gills with kids but the lanes were nearly abandoned.  I had one to myself for the whole time.  It was lovely.

I think I could have gone on for a long time but at about the 30 minute mark, I remembered the chef salad and soon I was just too hungry to go on.  So I got home through the Mariner traffic.

I built a huge chef salad:  Iceburg, chopped up salami, ham, hardboiled egg, tomatoes, pickled onions topped with grated parmesan, big fat Anita-made croutons and my own creamy blue cheese dressing.


3/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 cup mayo
a capful of apple vinegar
a pinch of sugar
a cup of blue cheese crumbles

It was delicious.  I have enough of everything for another one, too.

As much as I hate all the chopping and mess, it was totally worth it this time.

The Mariners are losing again, the a/c is holding his own (love love love that guy) and all is under control here.  I am sorry to be missing pride, until I think of how how it is...
