I'm not big on marriage at all - any marriage - I don't really see the point except to give divorce lawyers a steady income BUT... While I know life's not fair, I do resent the hell out of legislative unfairness. Karma does a good enough job - government should treat people equally. And today the federal government under who's laws I live, got just a little more equal. Nice.
My new swim suit came yesterday - it's kind of deep pinkish red. Quite the departure. My two soon-to-be-retired suits are blues. It's funny but those of us at the pool every day come to attach recognition to suits and caps. I don't wear a cap so my suit is my identity. (It's also very tough to recognize each other dressed and dry.)
So we'll give the new suit a try today when the pool opens at 11. I need to stop in at the Japanese grocery store for some rice. There is one kind that I really like and I'm out of it and I've never seen it anywhere but there so...
I'm also thinking I might wander over to the farmers market after swim and pick up some pasta from that pasta guy. And some of those spring onions.
The baseball game is at 1 pm but they are playing Pittsburgh, currently one of the best teams playing so not even a fair matchup.
I have another episode of Crossing Lines on TiVo and I'm anxious to see if it lives up to the pilot.
This weekend promises to start a rash of Very Hot days so today and tomorrow are probably my last days of fresh air for a while. I'll shut the door, pull down the blinds and hunker down in my, hopefully, dark, cool cave until it's safe again. This also means that I'm going to pass on the Pride parade. I'd love to see it but not in the heat and I know from past years that even finding a shady spot is too miserable to be fun. Wish they had it on TV like they did one year.
Zoey's gate should be here today. I got one of those ugly mesh baby gates. It's ugly but she loves to see the hall traffic and now she'll be able to sit on the floor with the door open and watch the world go by.
Ooops, someone forgot to hit Post!
I did my grocery shopping and had a huge cough attack in the store. I got water and drank it and kept coughing. I did not have my rescue inhaler - rats. The cough got better so I went to the pool. ZERO coughing while I swam. It always amazes me how much better every lung thing is in the pool. My new suit was fabulous. I did not realize how stretched out my old ones are.
I got home and went right from the car to the farmer's market. I got my stuff and then started coughing again big time. I made it home, took a pill, sucked on my inhaler, drank a gallon of water and I think I've got it under control. Besides being really annoying, if I keep coughing, I'll irritate my cougher and that will cause me to cough. It's a vicious cycle that I know to nip in the bud as soon as possible. I think I got it this time.
Now, it's lunch time, then baseball time.
