Oh, THAT Book of Mormon

So, Google and I have some kinks to iron out. When I want to hear the soundtrack to the play Book of Mormon, I need to be very precise in my request. On the other hand, Google's been tracking me tightly for years and years and years now. What byte of all that data leads to my wanting to hear how the Latter Day Saints feel about Jesus????

Again on the home from the pool, I stopped at Blazing Bagels to try and get my favorite sandwich. Last Sunday they were closed for Easter. Today the line was out the door. NFW. There are two games in the neighborhood today, hopefully that accounts for the line cause if not, I'm never going to get one of those sandwiches on a Sunday.

The Seattle Sounders play in the stadium across the street at noon. The Mariners play in the stadium down the block at 1. Not a good day to go anywhere and hope to get back here without massive traffic interference.

But, I'm not going anywhere anyway. Besides being lazy, I've realized lately that my lack of interest in leaving this house is maybe a little bit (or a lot) tied to the fear of falling down thing. Or maybe more precisely, the lack of control over my personal environment once I leave these walls. I need to think on this some more. Not that it's a real problem. I love being here. I have tons to entertain me here. Everything is fine here. I'm not agoraphobic. Also getting up from a sitting position. I remember when my Mom was old, we'd be sitting at the table and decide to go do something and get up. I'd pop up and be half way out the door and look back and she was upright holding on to the table... 'getting my legs under me'. Totally get that now.

I'm not loving my current crochet project but, today while I was swimming, I think I've figured out a twist to it that now makes me really like it very much more. It's another blanket which itself is boring. But, I think I've figured out how to make it into a cardigan. Not boring! And a lot more creative and I don't even have to decide for another 14 or so inches. Plenty of time to revise, polish or abandon the whole idea.

I'm reading two (well, really three) excellent books right now. They are as different as night and day and whatever else is the opposite of both of those.

That Good Night - Life and Medicine in the Eleventh Hour by Sunita Puri - A fascinating look at the practice of a palliative care physician.

Ladies Who Punch - The Explosive Inside Story of "The View" by Ramin Setoodeh - This is every bit as trashy and delicious as it sounds. I watched this show for several years - not the early ones and not recently. This inside skippy could be 100% fiction. I don't know and I don't care. It's a great read.

Those two are on the Kindle. This one is my current audio book:

Run Away by Harlan Coben - Generally I don't like his mysteries. I don't really like any of his series. But, once in a while he writes a standalone that is really a great story. So far, this is one of those times.

The two Kindle books are library books and the library wants the first one back in two days so I need to get reading on that one.

And I think I'll do that right now while I finish up my coffee.

Now, these are the Mariners I know and love...

Last night the Mariners lost 15-1 and today they are losing 14-1 but the Rangers still have a chance to equal or better last night's score. The Mariners have had error after error and seem confused as to what to do with the bat in their hands at the plate. These are my Mariners. These are the Mariners who have never ever once even got close to the World Series. I wondered where they had been.

I've crystallized and figured out my blanket turned sweater. I wish I could draw/sketch better but at least I can scribble up a plan and I've done that. It might be pretty cool.

I have three packages coming tomorrow. One via USPS, one via FedEx and one via UPS. It will be a RACE!! My guess is that UPS will will with delivery just after noon. FedEx and USPS will like be neck and neck mid-afternoon.

Then tomorrow at 5, the two women from the University of Washington are coming over for a follow up on their study. That was my Trader Joe's stop. To get snacks to offer up. I'm set.

Ok, just saw a tweet that a Chicago Cubs farm team in Iowa, just had a 15 run 1st inning. They are now in the 4th inning and the score is 17-2. That game may be over in my lifetime. Or not. But minor league baseball rocks.
