Between the snows

Again, an easy new route to the pool. But this time, the gym opened!! There was lots of talk about yesterday 'we arrived just in time to see you leaving... not a good sign' 'who ever thought to check their app??' But, it was fine and the swim was good. I did 1 hour's worth and then hustled out of there. I was on the road by 6:15 and the traffic was totally fine. When they open up the final exit of the new roadway, it will be even better - better traffic wise and I will have a new option for coming home as well.

Tomorrow looks fine as well and then ... All the weather peops are predicting snow. Most are saying Thursday night, Friday, Saturday and some are now adding Monday. So, in other words, buckle up.

I need some lunch fixin's and some produce so today or tomorrow I think I'll make a trip out to stock up. I might even make a little excursion to Costco. Regardless, I'll be ready to just sit back and enjoy.

I think I'm going to get started on the latest tiny house today. Interestingly, the wall paper arrived with a fairly significant rip and a couple of minor tears. I'm pretty sure I can hide the damage. But, I did send an email to the customer service address in the package to let them know. Last night I got a note from them saying they were sending me a new kit. I replied quickly that that was not necessary. I allowed as how I'd love a different one or a coupon for reduced price on some of their other kits but that really they didn't need to send me a new kit. I'll be interested to see what happens and I was impressed with their offer.

Ok, time to get up and get going with this day!

Every Inch Of Me

I have to say that I got way more than my $4 out of this little endeavor. It turned out to be pretty freakin' cool. I had a bit of an issue getting the lighting right. It won't work if it can't see all the dots but it tells you to back up, come forward, move left, etc. Until it sees everything. Then you stand and pivot when it tells you and after 11 pivots you are done and you can get the results.

Measuring your ownself is doable. It's just a big old PIA. This is easy and fun. Now... it's not perfect. My right ankle is way smaller than my left. But, hey, my socks accommodate and that's all I sew that needs ankle measurements.

This is pretty freakin' cool.

Finally cold but I'm ok with that

I spent a giant chunk of my life in the south, so too hot especially since most of those years were before air conditioning was ubiquitous. I never got hot flashes when I went through menopause. I just got warm all over and never cooled off. For ever I have said that I cannot wait to be the kind of old lady who never gets warm.

Could be that I'm getting there!

I left home this morning headed for Costco but the more I thought about that walk across the parking lot, the more I though Fuck Noooo! it's too damn cold! I popped, instead, into Grocery Outlet and stocked up for the storm.

It feels really cold in this house. The thermometer says it's 66 so it actually is kind of cold. I could turn the heat on but I'm not quite there yet. I could also get up off my ass and move but I'm absolutely not there!

Two years ago at the gym one morning, I came back to the locker room from the pool to discover that my purse and brand new phone had been stolen out of my locked locker. A few days later, I saw on TV that woman had her car keys stolen out of her locked locker, same gym, and her BMW stolen out of the parking garage.

Well, it happened again. Last night between 7 and 9, a woman was in LA Fitness working out when her locker was broken into and the thief made off with her stuff and then her Lexus.

Since my rip off, I no longer leave anything in one of those lockers that I cannot live without. I do not take a purse into the gym with me. I keep my phone and keys in my swim bag and take it with me to the pool where I hang it up along the pool side where I can see it at all times.

I love that pool (except when the heater is broken or the chemicals are fucked up) but that gym is just a mess of problems.

I got a good start on my tiny project. And I'm way happier with the organization. I also have better glue. And since it's tidier, I am ok with doing a little at a time and not rushing so I can get it all put away. Progress.

More and more Seattle weather people are hoping on the snow bandwagon. Apparently, there's gonna be a lot of it starting on Friday. I'm actually kind of sad. The only person I know who loves the snow like I do is ljtourist and he's leaving Friday for a week in the Bahamas. I know he'll have fun but it must be killing him to miss what could be our biggest snow in a couple of decades. I just read a tweet quoting some source saying the downtown area (where we both live) could get 18-22 inches. I'll just have to enjoy it for the both of us.
