Swimming naked

A big part of swimming is feeling the water. All around you. How it feels against your legs and your hair. It feels wonderful. I noticed when I put on my new suit this morning that it was a little big. The fabric is not as tight as most. I did get on the scale in case I'd lost a butt load of weight (no). As long as it doesn't fall off or look baggy, which it doesn't, I'm ok with loose. But, then I got in the water and OMG, it's like swimming naked! The water completely lifts the suit off my body. At first it was freaky and then it was wonderful. Now I'm going to be bummed when I wear my other suits.

The pool was packed. Solid. With people waiting. Mostly people I'd never seen before. One was an old man who came in just as the woman in my lane left. He looked a lot like Newt Gingrich. He swam 3 laps and then went to hoist himself out of the pool. He hoisted himself out and his swim trunks off. Yep. As I got to the edge of the pool, my face was only a few inches from a total view of this man's ass. Lovely.

He got himself together and left and I finished my swim. As I was getting out, he came back. He told me his key (locker room?/cara? house?) had fallen out in the hot tub and he had to go back and get it. He was very chatty. He only swam 1 and a half laps last week but today it was 3 laps. He showed me his goggles and told me he washes his suit thoroughly after every swim to get the chlorine out (the pool has no chlorine). He had a lot more he wanted to say but I was in the shower (without him).

My new watch is very excellent. It is a step up or four from my other one in weird ways. I don't use maybe half of what it does but what I do use is all still there and just better. If anyone reading this is trying to decide between a Vivoactive and a Vivoactive 3, spend the extra. Totally worth it in mostly very subtle but cool ways.

I think the game plan today is TV watching and crochet. Tivo is full and there's Netflix stuff I wanna get to and I'd like to get this sleeveless vest thing finished sometime soon. If the sun stays behind the clouds like it is now, I'm thinking a little walk around the block may be in order.

There's a Sounders game at Century Link stadium this afternoon and a baseball game at Safeco Field tonight. Wanna see a cool aerial shot of where I live? Found it this morning on Instagram. Looks like it was taken this week.

See the little red circle on the right near the bottom? That's me. The light colored area just above Century Link and below the giant container dock is the construction area for the new downtown tunnel. It was started a bazillion years ago. They are saying it will be finished and open this fall which means sometime in 2020. That peninsula in the top is West Seattle which is where my gym pool is.  If you extended the photo to the right, you'd get downtown Seattle.

Score!

A while back I picked up a six pack of tuna fish at Costco. It was a brand I never heard of but my cupboard was tuna-free and come the apocalypse I would have been fucked so I grabbed. Weird tuna is better than no tuna at all.

I finally opened a can today. Tuna, a little died celery, a little diced onion, a diced hard boiled egg, some mayo. OMG. This stuff is heaven!! So excellent.

I am now, officially, on a tuna fish binge.

I won... twice!!

I had planned an afternoon of TV but ended up in tech wars. First my new watch wouldn't sync - again. I'm still wondering if the beta operating system is causing issues. BUT, I was able to put together some effective troubleshooting steps and once I gathered my clues, I figured out I could attach it to the Windows PC and, sure enough, the watch system needed and update. Updated and all was cool.

That was one hour. Then I killed 30 minutes creating the perfect watch face. This guy built a watch face with so many different ways to configure it that I had a great time and got exactly what I wanted. He had good instructions that ended with a gentle request for funds. So I sent him $10. I hope he's as delighted as I was in his software.

Then the blinds weren't working like they should. I had thought it was Alexa not sending the correct signals but then I figured out the blinds weren't getting the signal from the hub. This little glitch took 2 hours to noodle out. I'm still not sure how or why it broke and I'm not entirely sure of the path to fix but I did manage to get them all working again and Alexa back in charge.

The app that runs the blinds absolutely balks at the beta system on my phone my tablets are hospitable environments.

All is fixed now and I did manage to work in one episode of Killing Eve. I've got nothing on the books for tomorrow so maybe TV then.
