Monday

Another glorious week in retirement land. Wednesday is housecleaner day so also errand day which frees up the other four days for whateverhappensisfabulous days. Oh except Thursday. Thursday is another Diamond Club Mariner game. yum!

But today is fix it day. I'm fixing all the tiny things that annoy me.

1. Those Speedo goggles are going back to Amazon. Label printed. USPS so it will get picked up today and I'll have my refund by tonight. Love Amazon.

2. The recessed ceiling light in the sewing room has been driving me nuts for years. When you flip the switch to turn it on, it has to warm up. Like the fucking olden days! It's one of those very early on energy efficient bulbs - I can't remember the exact name but it's going to be history as of today. Amazon is bringing me an LED replacement. Love Amazon.

3. I have a house full of tablets and I use them all for a wide variety of things. Most are elcheapo Amazon Fire tablets that I picked up on sale when they were $20 or $40. Those are great for watching TV or videos or podcasts or having in front of me with PDF instructions which is why I have two of them in the sewing room alone. They are also good for silly card and board games. But, try to do anything else and they are dogs. I have one next to my TV chair which has been driving me nuts for months. It's just impossible to use for anything I want to do. So I went to Swappa and found a nice Nexus 7 for $75. It's also an LTE version which means I can use one of my data sims in it and have it internetable for emergencies. Goodness all around.

Plus, I love Swappa. I always get this nice feeling that someone, when they check their email today, will utter a gleeful YESSSS!!!

4. I have two tops I made that have nice, wide 3/4 length sleeves. Nice for spring except they have big cowl necks which look very wintery. While I was swimming this morning I figured out how I could nicely chop down the necks so they don't look so wintery. That's top on my todo list now.

I wish the autopostings from Instagram weren't so huge. I just scared myself with a photo of me. Old people pictures should never be that big.

I got another new neighbor, just in time for TheTreeThatIHate to block my view with its leaves. There were three empty apartments across the way and now the two that are easiest to see are filled! One more to go.

Ok, time to get my retired ass up and operational.

This is better

There's a podcast that I have listened to for a really long time (Alison Rosen is your new best friend). I spend half of my listening time in a long black robe judging the shit out of her for being such a silly narcissist. She lives in LA, on the fringe of the alittlebitfamous so the other half of the time, I'm fascinated by her and the people she has on the show and what they think is important and what they don't care two fucks about.

About a year ago she set up a Patreon account and for $5 a month, I can get extra podcasts. I signed up and after a couple of months turned off the spigot. Then she had some interesting people on her extra stuff so I started sending her $5 again. But, then she started sending these emails about the zit on her chin and she wrote a book which she's now hawking like crazy and I don't care anything about so I turned off the spigot. Again.

Just now, on Twitter, the Seattle Public Library had a tweet about a program they have to help teens get out from under library fines and fees. and be able to start using the library again. And they have an easy way to contribute directly to this program. I can give them $5 a month. So, Alison, your $5 is off now to help kids get back to the library. Thank you!!

And then...

I got a text that my Amazon package had arrived so I went down to get it. While there, I checked the mail. There was a check from Amazon! A check for $.07. So, see, I'm already on my way to the first month of my library donation ... Thanks, Amazon!

It's always a shock to me how different the light from an LED bulb is when you first put it in. The sewing room looks very different and I like it. Plus, the trick of flipping the switch and having instant light is a trip. And oen that I'll appreciate every single day.

And I ordered more goggles. Turns out I ordered the wrong ones. The ones I ordered are really different. I think I'm going to give them a spin. Maybe they will be molto bene (they are Italian). No pick now... but tomorrow, via Instagram, you'll get a huge one.

Then I got a note that my lap counting software was out of beta. So I got it installed on my gizmo and I'm charging it right now.

Oh and speaking of charging, I got the scooter all charged up. I also fastened down the basket that kept falling off and gathered essentials for all trips - gloves, giant sun glasses and small umbrella. They are now all in a pouch in that fastened down front basket. I also fixed my Mariner backpack so it fits onto the back without flopping around. I am set to go!

Oh dear. I just read that Harry Anderson is dead. Night Court was on TV for not very long but it was hilarious and a lot because of Harry. He was younger than I am. Wonder what he died of? Ooops, now I'm usurping fauxklore!
