Early morning tech

Sandy (upstairs neighbor) asked me to help her with her printer a couple of days ago. This morning I woke up to a very apologetic note saying she had planned to hold off until after my brother's visit but really needed to print and could I come? I saw it before my swim and told her I'd be there at 7.

I had a great swim again. I'm so grateful for these swims. I know I keep saying that but it keeps being true. I got home, got coffee, got dressed and was at their door at 7. I expected problems because they are all Apple and I willingly chose to know squat about Apple. BUT... turns out, selecting the SSID and putting in the password did the trick. At 7:11, she was printing out her emergency and was ever so grateful.

A while back, she asked me if I knew how to get random foreign money converted. I found a website to do just that and sent her the URL. Today she handed me a large baggie of cash and said "please say no if you don't want to fool with it, but I know I'm never going to get around to it so if you want to convert all this, I'd love you to keep the cash". I said heck it would be fun to figure out. So I took the baggie.

I found an old thread box to sort it all into. It will be fun. The bills are pretty and all have different and interesting feels. The coins might be tricky to even figure out but I'm game. She did say if there was money from the Seyshelles, ignore it as she found out after she got home that it was illegal to take money from there. Turns out there is. So glad for the warning.

Someone I used to know in LJ land was all into foreign currency and knew all about it. I wish I could remember who.

The house cleaner should be here in about an hour or less. I don't have a lot of errands to do but some. Hopefully enough to give her time to finish. I have to be at the AirBnB at 1:30 to pick up the key. The onto the airport to meet my brother who's flight is expected to land about 4pm.

Fun day ahead.

So flattering

The house cleaner came in this morning "I have your Christmas present!!!", she proclaimed. And then she unveiled a giants basket wrapped in cellophane and tied with a red bow.

"It's for all the things you make!! I went to JoAnne's and picke out everything!" She was so excited and I was so incredibly touched and flattered.

She had, indeed, picked out everything. Fabrics of all kinds. Different skeins to yarn "One is enough to make teddy? Yes?" Yes. And a package of fancy, pretty little flower "what do you call? Buttons!!!"

Seriously, for her to go to this much trouble and thought. What an amazing thing. So kind. So nice. So fun. Looks like I'm going to have to make some things!!
