Performance Enhancing Drugs for the WIN!!!

I started taking mega doses of prednisone on Tuesday. Today is Sunday and OMG do I love that drug. Finally, today. I suspected it when I got up this morning and it wasn't a struggle to get geared up for the pool. But then, I got in the water and swam 2,100 yards in 1 hour and 10 minutes. It's not terribly far off my best time ever. No stopping. No need to. After the first 10 minutes, I didn't even think about breathing. I just swam and swam and swam. It was glorious.

And no coughing and no panting and gasping. I even made it up from the car... up the stairs, across the garage, to the elevator without stopping - first time in weeks.

I've got 6 more days of this stuff and I need to cash in. There will be a minimum of 2 walks around the block a day or the equivalent. My plan is to trick my body into thinking this is the norm so that when the prednisone is over, it won't know anything else. Whack idea, I'm sure but no people or animals will be killed in the process so I'm going for it.

It feels so good not to pant or gasp or cough. Oh and another milestone yesterday... I wore the same pants/underpants all day long. Didn't have to change once. Big girl time.

I have a new top to make and a half a teddy bear to finish. And TV to watch. Busy busy.

But, first, I'm going to clean up the kitchen (from breakfast) and then take Walk #1 du jour.

You went outside???

I just took my second 15 minute walk of the day... Yes, that's two, 1+1 walks for 15 minutes each, in the same day! Oh man so amazing. I did have to stop a couple of times but that's because I was walking too fast. On purpose.

It's raining pretty sincerely so when I came in just now I was a little soggy mouse situation going on with my look. My next door neighbor, Sue, was going into the elevator with her husband and mother and she looked at me and said with shock in her voice.... "You went outside??!!" Cracked me up. Yes, I did.

And I made one test shirt. I'm not wild about it but I'll keep it in the closet and maybe wear it once or twice before I give it to Goodwill. I probably won't use that pattern again.

BUT when I went to put the rest of the fabric away, I found a piece that would be perfect for the new pattern I tested last week. I think I'll cut it out and give it a try. It was a piece of fabric I picked up at Goodwill that turned out to be way more and way better than I thought once i got it home.

Then knitting and TV I think.
