Saturday morning ritual

Killing time til the pool opens... It's rainy and chilly out this morning and I love it. I have a top I made a few weeks ago that it's been too hot to wear. No more! I'm sitting here on the bed and feeling cold and being so grateful for the feeling.

I think I'll head out a little earlier and pop into the Safeway before the gym opens. Then I'm planning on brunch after at Arthur's. I think they have a new menu since I was there last.

I have a sewing project started that I hope to finish this afternoon.

I'll also be on ceiling leak patrol. The bucket I have out is filling up fast. The terrace above has a drain that isn't draining. I'm hoping my terrace ceiling doesn't fall down. I did find out at the HOA board meeting that I am not the only one with this problem and they are looking into a fix. If I have to pay for damages I'm going to be pissed. But, I've done all I can do - reported it to the people who are responsible for the fix. And reported it and reported it and reported it... since it started in June. Sigh.

My chromebook that I use every day all day has been really twitchy recently. Slow, stuttery, and it even has rebooted on its own a couple of times. So last night I did a powerwash and that fixed everything. It used to be that doing that powerwash, which takes the machine back to factory settings, was kind of a pain. Resetting all your cookies and reentering passwords, etc. Now, it's an absolute piece of cake. It took a total of 10 minutes to get everything like I like it - tabs pinned, logged into my every day sites, etc. Really amazing when you think about it. I'll be replacing that machine at the end of the month. I'll probably move it into the bedroom and move the bedroom one into the sewing room. I will have way too many chromebooks. But, they are pretty worthless for reselling and easy peasy to keep up to date so I just keep using them.

Ok. Time to go if I want to tuck in the grocery stop.

Saturday - the rest

The West Seattle LA Fitness has gotten even groddier in the two weeks since I was last there. The washers are still not fixed but at least they have towels obviously in from the laundry as the lobby was filled with gynormous (like 8 feet high) laundry carts. The locker room was dirty and smelly but - yahoo - the TV sound is broken!! - so they were, at least, quiet. The pool water was gross as ever. Split pea soup. I spent the hour debating whether I was being a princess and should just be grateful to have a pool OR if it was just too disgusting to swim in.

To be honest, if it weren't for my fitness tracker, I'd probably just skip the Saturday swim. But, I hate to break my streak. And that's ridiculous. So probably, next Saturday, I'll plan some other way to get at least some exercise. The streak can just suffer until the new pool opens. Swimming in that soup just is not fun.

I did go to Arthur's for brunch and it was nice.

I finished off the shirt that was my latest new pattern and I love it. It's a soft, comfy, warm shirt and it's cute. I made a fair number of changes to the pattern and, when done, tweaked it some more for next time.

I also found a new place to hang my patterns. They were taking over the closet. I got a tension bar so that I could hang them in the space between the wall and the wardrobe in the sewing room. Much better.

I just saw the Mariners logo in a TV commercial for MLB post season play. Cruel.

And, yes, I'm, once again not not watching. The Nationals just tied it up in the 8th. Sweet.

I have a potato baking in the oven. And an evening of knitting and TV on the calendar.
