Cooler - at least they say so and...

In looking at the next 10 days, we will be seeing no temperatures above 75 degrees.  But, even more encouraging is the trend down of the temperatures.  This Summer has been mild here but feels like it was hotter and more difficult than previous ones.  I think it's mainly my attitude.  I'm so tired of the bright sun.  Today is supposed to be cloudy and we even have some rain in the forecast.  One of the great things about the northwest is that rain always equals cooler.

And school starts.  Finally.  In the Southeast, where I lived when I went to school, school started weeks earlier, but here, they wait until practically Labor Day.  I like it way better when kids are confined to school at least part of the time. I am the mean old lady who hates kids.  (I don't hate them all, I just rarely run into any who pleasant, interesting and non-destructive.)

Today's swim and class were good.  Next week we have a substitute teacher and I'm quite excited about it.  Michaela is reputed to be better than Montrel (our regular teacher who is the best).  I'm looking forward to test driving her!  The week after that, that pool will be closed for a week so I'll have to go somewhere else.  Probably I will just go to my weekday pool.  They have a good shallow end class and laps on Saturday morning.

After class, I decided against getting anything to eat.  I wasn't hungry.  Instead I went and got cat food and grapes and cheese and shrimp.  I looked for some stuff that legalmoose suggested - Glide - it's what athletes wear to prevent chaffing.  I found it on Amazon and put it in my cart but then thought I'd check locally.  I went to two places and did learn that Glide has the same look and logo of Astroguide... ah...  But, no Glide.  Came home and pulled the trigger on the Amazon Cart.

I stopped into the coffee shop downstairs and got a bagel with lox and cream cheese for lunch because by that time, I was hungry.

Now I need to put the groceries away and figure out what's next on my hit parade today.

Air conditioner off... trial

I turned off the air conditioner tonight.  I have the fan on instead.  I'm not brave enough to put it up for the winter but, if the 7 day forecast after next Saturday looks like this one, I will.  Last year I put it away on September 2 which is the earliest date since I started tracking in 2002.

I'm looking forward to no a/c noise and my electric bill going back down to wear it belongs.  But, of course, I'm really looking forward to cold.  Long sleeves hide my blood bruised arms and gloves hide the hands.  I can pretend my skin is 100% normal.  (I don't know why I'm so hung up about my hands and arms. I'm a good 100 pounds overweight.  Project Runway is not going to ask me to fill in for one of their models.)  Oh and I will have my living room real estate back when I put the thing back into the closet on the terrace - out of sight = No Longer Hot.
