Finger update

Last night I took my splint off to knit and I made sure I was using very easy to work with yarn and it was fine.  I also took an Indomethacin pill (which I have or gout attacks).  Before bed, I gave the finger a chill down and donned the splint (which Travis tried to chew off several times).

This morning when I took the splint off, the first bend was a little tight but in general it sure feels better than yesterday.  I plan to baby it today.  I'm still shooting for a cure as opposed to developing a plan for living with this forever.

---

My brother is visiting his son in Boston.  And he's attending his granddaughter's 4th birthday and meeting her new baby sister.  I just got a picture of the birthday girl.  Oh and he put it on G+.

---

I don't expect there to be much work today.  It's ok because my water aerobics class is going to eat up a chunk of time.  Getting there is not a big deal.  The class is at 1:30 and it usually takes me less than 20 minutes at mid day to get to this particular pool.  But, getting home on Fridays is a bitch.  For some reason the traffic going back south to downtown is always a bitch at 2:30 on Fridays.

Next week the class moves to 11:15 for the summer and that should help substantially.

Also, note to me.  Get gas.  I have no favorite easy gas station and I hate pumping gas anyway so I always put it off and forget about it and one of these days that scenario is going to bite me in the ass.  I do not want that to be soon.  So... I will get gas today.

---

It's a cloudy morning and I'm so grateful.  The reports about the record heat in other parts of the country are making me sweat and grateful to be here.

my first ever trip to Oregon I was out in a rental car (I was actually staying in Vancouver WA for a week but drove to Portland to shop tax free ;) I hopped out of the car to pump some gas into it and was totally caught off guard when a guy came running out of the station to do it. He told me I couldn't do it and I was flabbergasted. I kept looking around for a sign that said I had pulled into a full service shop (something i have not seen since I was a kid). I mentioned it to my niece who lived in Portland and she rolled her eyes and told me it was just one of Oregon's stupid laws.
